Moving Wood

Here is Collin and I think Jayden on top of the "to be split" pile. We made two piles as we didn't feel we needed to split the really small stuff. It's hard to see how much wood there is, but let me tell you that it took about six to eight hours of running two pickups back and forth-one being loaded and one being unloaded at all times- to get the pile moved. The wood was across the street at the neighbors, so there was about four minutes of drive time per load. That was with two adults and three really hard working kids. So it's a lot of wood.

Here Than and Collin throw off the very last piece of wood together. They were very happy to see it go! Now we get to split and stack it all! We've started by stacking the non-split wood already. We'll keep picking at it. We have enough wood already in the woodshed/front porch to last at least a month if not more, so we're not feeling a ton of pressure to get this pile split out. We'll keep working at it, but it's unfortuanetly low on the priority list, what with walls and such still to be built in the cabin.
