We being Collin and I....... I told you earlier that we were consulting with a specialist out of FL and he called Wed. PM and after talking to me for about 20 mins. he told me he wanted Collin there in two weeks....
So when I called his office the next day, Thursday, he actually had an opening on Feb. 5th. So we're flying to Tampa, FL on Feb. 4th. Collin will have the procedure on the 5th, and if all goes as planned, we'll leave that evening to drive to visit a friend in Louisiana. We'll fly out of New Orleans on Feb. 11th.
This whole process has been expedited significantly because of Collin's age. Usually it would have taken us 3-4 wks to schedule this procedure, not 3-4 DAYS! We're very happy about it and the doctor feels Colin needs to come now because of his age and symptoms.
This specialist has a website that explains everything about the parathyroid and hyperparathyroidism, which is what Collin has. The website also explains everything about the procedure Collin is having and who the specialist is and how he's been working on this procedure for ten yrs. For those who want to know why we would travel all the way to FL for this procedure, be sure to read the pages regarding treatment/surgery.
