A friend of ours has a tradition of doing gingerbread houses right before Christmas every year. We missed it last year and the kids were very excited to get to do it this year. She has everyone bring a bag of candy and graham crackers or gingerbread per kid. She provides the space, frosting and chili for lunch. She always has multiple families join her. Some are family the rest friends. This year there were 15 kids ages 17-4 and 9 adults. We tend to come at different times all through the day, so it works out well. This year we came right as others were finishing, so some of the older kids had to wait for space to open on the table. (Be sure to read all the way to Jan. 4th as I again could only get four pics at a time to load. Some day I'll get it sorted out!)
Than helped Max with his house. Although I suspect it was to get him done.
Of course there is always the eating of the candy too.
From left to right of our kids is Jayden, Than, Max and Amanda. Jayden was just getting started. Max was almost done and Amanda was carefully plotting and creating her house.
While waiting for their turn Lee and Collin played chess and ate chili.
